Made in Australia, our Acid Stains are a water-based liquid bearing combination of minerals and acid. The acid stain penetrates the micro pores of the concrete forcing a chemical reaction between the lime within the concrete and the stain. The color of the concrete will be permanently altered providing a varied natural colored marbled look.
Fortis Acid Stains have the added benefit of limited residue as they contain no Hydrochloric Acid (muriatic acid), eliminating the need for neutralising.

- Question – Will the acid stain look exactly the same as the colour on the web site?
- Answer – No, dilution and lime content will effect the colour. Always do a test patch 1st.
- Question – How old does the concrete need to be before applying?
- Answer – We recommend a minimum 14 days.
- Question – Can I use a metal spray bottle to apply the acid stain?
- Answer – No, you MUST use plastic spray bottles.
- Question – Can I use hydrochloric acid to wash the concrete prior to using acid stains?
- Answer – This will deplete the lime resulting in poor take up of the minerals.
- Question – What is the best way to prepare the surface of the concrete?
- Answer – Sanding with 80 grit sand paper or lightly pressure clean.
