FORTIS AD5113 is a single-component, moisture-curing polyurethane laminating adhesive developed for industrial lamination, composite panels and sandwich panel manufacturing.
Its low-viscosity formulation allows efficient spray, roller or brush application while providing fast green strength and excellent adhesion between dissimilar materials.
AD5113 is suitable for bonding stainless steel, Colorbond®, polystyrene foam, timber, rubber and a range of porous and composite materials. Typical applications include composite and sandwich panels, stainless steel benchtops, caravan and RV panels, truck and transport bodies, insulated panels and general industrial lamination.
AD5113 is particularly suited to production environments where fast application, short clamp times and reliable adhesion between dissimilar materials are required.
The cured adhesive provides excellent heat resistance and maintains a strong, durable bond under demanding service conditions.
For production applications, Fortis recommends confirming substrate compatibility and conducting a production trial to establish the optimum application rate, open time and clamping conditions.
Single-Component Moisture-Curing Polyurethane
FORTIS AD5113 can be applied by spray, roller or brush depending on the substrate and production process.
Apply approximately 100–200 gsm to one bonding surface, ensuring consistent adhesive coverage. Assemble the components within the recommended open time and apply sufficient pressure to maintain intimate contact between the substrates during the initial cure.
For spray application, equipment should be adjusted to provide a uniform adhesive film without excessive build-up. Application rate will vary depending on substrate porosity and the materials being laminated.
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease and other contaminants before bonding.
Temperature, humidity, substrate porosity and adhesive application rate can influence open time and cure speed. Production trials are recommended when establishing a new laminating process.
