Fortis C501 Adhesive Stripper

FORTIS C501 Adhesive Stripper is a powerful solvent-based cleaner and stripper for removing cured polyurethane and epoxy adhesive residues from metal tools, machine parts and industrial processing equipment.

Information

FORTIS C501 Adhesive Stripper is an industrial-strength solvent-based product developed to soften and remove cured polyurethane and epoxy adhesive residues from metal tools, machine components and processing equipment.

C501 penetrates and weakens cured adhesive build-up, allowing contamination to be removed by scraping, peeling or mechanical cleaning. It is particularly useful in timber manufacturing, finger jointing, glue lamination and other industrial adhesive processes where cured adhesive can accumulate on removable machine parts, tools and production equipment.

Small metal components can be immersed in C501, while fixed equipment can be treated locally using controlled brush application.

C501 is intended primarily for resistant metal surfaces. It may attack paints, coatings, plastics, rubber seals and other sensitive materials, so compatibility should always be checked before use.

For preventative equipment protection, use FORTIS Machinery Glue Release to help reduce adhesive build-up before it occurs.

Material

Solvent-Based Adhesive Stripper

Advantages

  • Softens and removes cured polyurethane adhesive residues
  • Suitable for removal of selected cured epoxy adhesive contamination
  • Ideal for cleaning metal machine parts, tools and processing equipment
  • Helps remove heavy adhesive build-up from industrial production equipment
  • Suitable for immersion cleaning of removable metal components
  • Can be brush-applied to fixed machinery and equipment
  • Reduces manual effort required to remove hardened adhesive residues
  • Well suited to timber manufacturing, finger jointing and glue lamination operations

Product Application

FORTIS C501 Adhesive Stripper is designed for removing cured polyurethane and selected epoxy adhesive residues from resistant metal tools, machine components and processing equipment.

Removable metal parts: Place the component in a suitable chemically resistant container and immerse the contaminated area in C501. Allow sufficient time for the cured adhesive to soften. Once softened, remove the adhesive by scraping, peeling, brushing or other suitable mechanical means.

Fixed machinery and equipment: Apply C501 carefully to the cured adhesive residue using a solvent-resistant brush. Allow the stripper to penetrate and soften the adhesive. Repeat application where required, then mechanically remove the softened residue.

Heavy or long-established adhesive deposits may require repeated treatment.

After cleaning, remove residual C501 as appropriate before returning equipment to service.

Use only in well-ventilated areas and wear appropriate personal protective equipment in accordance with the current Safety Data Sheet.

Always test compatibility before application. C501 may damage paint, protective coatings, plastics, rubber seals and other solvent-sensitive components.

Surfaces

Suitable primarily for resistant metal surfaces including steel machine parts, metal tools, glue application equipment, clamps, fixtures and selected industrial processing equipment.

FORTIS C501 may attack or damage painted surfaces, protective coatings, plastics, rubber seals and other solvent-sensitive materials. Always test compatibility on an inconspicuous area before use and remove or protect sensitive components where practical.

FAQs

What is FORTIS C501 Adhesive Stripper used for?

FORTIS C501 is used to soften and remove cured polyurethane and selected epoxy adhesive residues from resistant metal tools, machine parts and industrial processing equipment.

Can C501 remove cured polyurethane adhesive?

Yes. C501 is specifically designed to soften cured polyurethane adhesive build-up so that the residue can be removed by scraping, peeling, brushing or other suitable mechanical cleaning methods.

Can C501 be used on glue lamination and finger jointing equipment?

Yes. C501 is suitable for cleaning compatible metal parts and equipment used in timber manufacturing, finger jointing and glue lamination where cured adhesive residues have accumulated.

Can machine parts be soaked in C501?

Compatible removable metal components can be immersed in C501 using a suitable chemically resistant container. Once the cured adhesive has softened, the residue can be mechanically removed. Always check material compatibility before immersion.

Will C501 damage paint, plastic or rubber?

C501 is a powerful solvent-based adhesive stripper and may damage paint, protective coatings, plastics, rubber seals and other solvent-sensitive materials. Always test compatibility before use and protect sensitive components.

What is the difference between C501 Adhesive Stripper and Machinery Glue Release?

FORTIS C501 is used to remove existing cured adhesive contamination from compatible equipment and machine parts. FORTIS Machinery Glue Release is applied as a preventative release coating to help reduce adhesive build-up and make future cleaning easier.
