Fortis AD5405 needs atmospheric moisture to cure. Therefore, ensure the substrate has some moisture. For timber, the moisture content should be up to 12%. Meanwhile, cement fibre should be around 8%. If the materials are too dry, you should lightly mist or wipe the surface with water. This will help activate the curing process and ensure a strong bond.
Ensure that the bonded surface is clean and free from dust or contaminants to achieve the best possible bond. For optimal results, make sure the joint fits tightly, ideally less than 0.3mm. This ensures better adhesive performance and a stronger bond.
Strong substrate-to-substrate contact is crucial for a high-quality bond. The better the contact, the more effective the bond will be. If no moisture is present, lightly mist or wipe the surface with water to activate the curing process, allowing for a stronger and quicker bond.
Allow the adhesive to set with a normal clamping time of 30-40 minutes for the best results.
Fortis AD5405 does not adhere to polyethylene or polypropylene plastic. Avoid using it on these surfaces to ensure proper bonding.
