AcrylaSolv™ Solvent-Based Acrylic Concrete Sealer

AcrylaSolv™ is a solvent-based clear acrylic sealer for concrete driveways, paving, exposed aggregate and decorative concrete. It enhances surface colour while providing a durable protective finish with good UV, weather and traffic resistance for exterior concrete surfaces.

Information

AcrylaSolv™ is a solvent-based acrylic concrete sealer designed to protect and enhance exterior concrete, paving and decorative cementitious surfaces.

The clear film enhances the natural colour and character of the substrate while helping protect against weathering, dirt ingress, staining and general wear. Its excellent penetration and adhesion make it suitable for both new and existing properly prepared concrete.

AcrylaSolv™ is ideal for driveways, pathways, patios, exposed aggregate, porous concrete pavers, stamped and stencilled concrete and other decorative concrete surfaces. The durable acrylic film provides good UV resistance and makes sealed surfaces easier to clean and maintain.

For applications where lower odour and a water-based system are preferred, consider ConcreteShield™ AcrylaSeal Water-Based Acrylic Sealer.

Material

Single-Component Solvent-Based Acrylic

Advantages

  • Durable solvent-based acrylic technology
  • Enhances the natural colour of concrete and paving
  • Good UV and weather resistance
  • Excellent penetration into porous concrete
  • Good adhesion to properly prepared substrates
  • Helps reduce dirt and contaminant ingress
  • Improves surface cleanability and maintenance
  • Suitable for pedestrian and vehicle traffic areas
  • Ideal for driveways and decorative concrete
  • Suitable for new and existing concrete
  • Clear protective finish
  • Easy roller application

Product Application

Ensure concrete is fully cured, clean, dry and free from oil, grease, curing compounds, laitance and contaminants. New concrete should normally cure for at least 14–30 days depending on conditions.

Concrete must be dry before sealing. Substrate moisture should be below 10%. Do not apply over damp concrete, as trapped moisture may cause whitening or clouding of the sealer.

Stir AcrylaSolv™ thoroughly before use. Apply evenly using a solvent-resistant roller, avoiding excessive film build, puddling and pooling.

Apply a minimum of two thin, uniform coats at approximately 3–5 m²/L per coat. Allow approximately 2 hours between coats. Apply between 8°C and 35°C.

Protect the sealed surface from water for at least 2 hours, pedestrian traffic for approximately 24 hours and vehicle traffic for approximately 5 days.

For additional surface grip in driveways, wet areas and other potentially slippery surfaces, use Fortis Non-Slip Additive where appropriate.

For a lower-odour water-based alternative, consider ConcreteShield™ AcrylaSeal Water-Based Acrylic Sealer.

FAQs

What is AcrylaSolv™ used for?
AcrylaSolv™ protects and enhances concrete driveways, paving, exposed aggregate, stamped, stencilled and decorative concrete.

Does AcrylaSolv™ enhance concrete colour?
Yes. The solvent-based acrylic film enhances the natural colour and character of suitable concrete and paving surfaces.

How many coats are required?
A minimum of two thin, uniform coats is recommended. Coverage varies according to surface porosity and profile.

Can AcrylaSolv™ be used on driveways?
Yes. AcrylaSolv™ is designed for properly prepared concrete driveways and other exterior concrete surfaces exposed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

Can it be applied to damp concrete?
No. Concrete should be dry before application. Trapped moisture may cause whitening, clouding or adhesion problems.

What is the difference between AcrylaSolv™ and AcrylaSeal?
AcrylaSolv™ is solvent based and provides stronger colour enhancement. AcrylaSeal is water based and is preferred where lower odour and water-based application are required.
