Wet Look Penetrating Sealer & Enhancer

Concrete Shield™ Wet Look is a silane/siloxane penetrating sealer and colour enhancer for polished concrete, terrazzo and absorbent stone. It produces a deeper, richer appearance while helping repel water, oil and grease without forming a heavy topical coating.

Information

Concrete Shield™ Wet Look Enhancer is a penetrating sealer and colour-enhancing finishing treatment designed primarily for polished concrete floors.

Typically applied during the final stages of the concrete polishing process, its silane/siloxane blend penetrates the prepared surface and helps reduce the absorption of water, oils and grease.

Wet Look Enhancer enriches and darkens the natural colour of concrete, producing a deeper, richer appearance while maintaining the character of the polished surface. Unlike conventional film-forming sealers, it penetrates the surface rather than creating a heavy topical coating.

It complements the Concrete Shield™ polished concrete system following grinding, grouting, densification and polishing.

Wet Look Enhancer can also be used on suitable absorbent terrazzo, terracotta and natural or artificial stone where a richer, colour-enhanced appearance is required.

For polished concrete where a more natural appearance is preferred, choose Concrete Shield™ Natural Look Enhancer.

Material

Silane/Siloxane Blend

Advantages

  • Designed for polished concrete floors
  • Rich wet-look colour enhancement
  • Deepens and enriches the appearance of concrete
  • Silane/siloxane penetrating sealer technology
  • Helps repel water, oil and grease
  • Helps reduce absorption into porous surfaces
  • Does not form a conventional topical coating
  • Helps keep treated surfaces easier to maintain
  • Suitable for interior and exterior applications
  • Also suitable for absorbent terrazzo, terracotta and stone

Product Application

Apply Concrete Shield™ Wet Look Enhancer as the final penetrating treatment after the required grinding, grouting, densification and polishing stages.

Ensure the surface is clean, completely dry and free from grinding residue, dust, oil, grease and contaminants. The surface must be sufficiently absorbent to allow penetration. Test a small area first to confirm compatibility and the final colour-enhanced appearance.

Apply evenly using a microfibre mop, roller or brush. Coverage ranges from approximately 4–40 m²/L depending on surface porosity, with approximately 8 m²/L typical. Wet the surface uniformly without excessive pooling.

After approximately 20 minutes, apply a second application. After a further 20 minutes, remove puddles, drips and excess material using a clean cloth lightly dampened with Wet Look Enhancer. Do not allow excess product to dry on the surface.

Once touch dry, buff with a suitable pad to remove remaining residue and produce a uniform finish. Allow approximately 12 hours before pedestrian traffic and 48 hours for full performance. Apply between 10°C and 25°C. Switch off underfloor heating and avoid application in direct sunlight.

Wet Look Enhancer can be used as the final treatment within the Concrete Shield™ Polished Concrete System. For a more natural appearance with less colour enhancement, choose Concrete Shield™ Natural Look Enhancer.

Surfaces

Make sure all surfaces are clean and free from oils and dust before you start. Keep in mind that some stones may absorb the product unevenly, which can cause cloudy or patchy spots. Also, be careful to protect glass, polished surfaces, plastics, varnishes, and other materials that can be damaged by splashes.

Avoid using this product on surfaces that are wet or don’t absorb liquids well, as it won’t work properly. Remember, marble and limestone can still be damaged by acids even after treatment.

Most of the solvents dry within two hours. You can walk on the floor after 12 hours, but it takes about 48 hours for the product to fully work. The surface temperature should be between 10°C and 25°C while applying. Also, turn off underfloor heating and avoid working in direct sunlight.

Finally, how much product you’ll need depends on the surface — more porous surfaces soak up more, so they require more product.

Does it create a wet-look finish?

Yes. It enhances and darkens the natural colour of concrete to produce a richer, wet-look appearance.

Is Wet Look Enhancer a topical coating?

No. It penetrates suitable absorbent surfaces rather than forming a conventional heavy surface coating.

What is the difference between Natural Look and Wet Look Enhancer?

Choose Natural Look to retain a more natural concrete appearance. Choose Wet Look for stronger colour enhancement and a richer finish.

Does it repel oil and water?

Yes. Its silane/siloxane treatment helps reduce the absorption of water, oil and grease into suitable porous surfaces.
