Water-based and high-solids epoxy coatings both protect concrete floors but differ in odour, film build, application and service. “Water-based” describes the carrier, while “high-solids” describes how much coating remains after curing. A water-based epoxy may also have a high solids content.

AquaCoat™ suits internal and occupied areas where low odour, ultra-low VOC and easy roller application matter. It can self-prime prepared concrete and may be used on suitably prepared damp concrete. Uses include garages, carparks, schools, offices and light to medium-duty commercial floors.
Coat 823 HS is a 95% solids, high-build epoxy for demanding garages, workshops, warehouses, factories and commercial floors. It provides greater film build and resistance to traffic, abrasion, oils and common chemicals. It can also form the base for decorative flake or slip-resistant systems.
Choose AquaCoat™ when low odour, easier application or suitably prepared damp concrete are priorities. Choose Coat 823 HS where greater film build and demanding service are required. Both need sound, clean and mechanically prepared concrete. Rising damp or significant moisture transmission requires an appropriate epoxy vapour barrier.
