UltraSpart™ 100 is a high-performance, two-component aliphatic polyaspartic designed for flooring systems where rapid installation, durability and long-term appearance are important.
Its essentially zero VOC formulation combines excellent abrasion, impact and chemical resistance with outstanding UV and colour stability. The aliphatic chemistry provides excellent resistance to yellowing, making UltraSpart™ 100 particularly suited to areas exposed to sunlight where conventional aromatic coating systems may discolour.
Rapid curing allows flooring projects to progress quickly. Light foot traffic is typically possible within 3–5 hours, with return to service in approximately 24 hours under suitable curing conditions. This makes UltraSpart™ 100 particularly useful for workshops, warehouses, garages, retail areas and commercial facilities where reducing downtime is important.
Clear UltraSpart™ 100 provides a durable protective topcoat over decorative flake and quartz broadcast systems, while coloured versions can be used to produce seamless high-performance floors. It can also be applied over compatible epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea flooring systems.
UltraSpart™ 100 is suitable for properly prepared concrete, compatible existing coatings and prepared metal substrates. Fortis non-slip aggregate can be incorporated where additional surface texture or slip resistance is required.
High-Build Two-Component Aliphatic Polyaspartic
Typical Applications
UltraSpart™ 100 is suitable for warehouses, workshops, garages, factories, manufacturing facilities, retail and commercial floors, showrooms and other high-traffic environments. It is particularly suited to decorative flake and quartz flooring systems where rapid cure, UV stability and fast return to service are required.
Application
Apply UltraSpart™ 100 to a properly prepared and, where required, primed substrate. Mix Part A and Part B at a 1:1 ratio by volume using a low-speed mechanical mixer until smooth and uniform.
Once mixed, immediately pour the material onto the floor in ribbons and distribute evenly using a suitable microfibre roller. Work efficiently because UltraSpart™ 100 cures rapidly and has a working time of approximately 15–20 minutes.
Back-roll evenly to achieve a consistent finish. Avoid excessive rolling or repeatedly working material as it begins to cure.
For decorative flake or quartz flooring systems, broadcast the selected aggregate into the appropriate base coat. Once cured, remove loose material and prepare the broadcast surface before applying UltraSpart™ 100 as the clear protective topcoat.
For slip-resistant flooring, suitable Fortis non-slip aggregate can be incorporated or broadcast according to the required surface texture.
Temperature significantly affects working and curing time. Refer to the current UltraSpart™ 100 Technical Data Sheet for complete mixing, application, coverage and recoating requirements.
Suitable Surfaces
UltraSpart™ 100 is suitable for mechanically prepared concrete, compatible epoxy flooring systems, decorative flake and quartz broadcast systems, compatible polyurethane or polyurea coatings and properly prepared metal substrates.
Concrete must be clean, sound and free from dust, laitance, oil, grease, curing compounds and other contaminants that may affect adhesion. Diamond grinding is the preferred preparation method because it removes weak surface material and provides a suitable profile for coating adhesion.
New concrete should normally be cured for at least 28 days before coating. Porous or highly absorbent concrete may require a suitable Fortis epoxy primer before application.
Existing compatible coatings must be firmly bonded, cleaned and mechanically abraded to provide a suitable surface profile. Compatibility and adhesion should be confirmed before overcoating.
Metal substrates must be clean, dry and mechanically prepared to the appropriate standard for the intended service conditions. A compatible primer may be required depending on the metal and exposure environment.
Where rising damp or significant moisture vapour transmission is present in concrete, investigate the substrate before coating and use an appropriate HydroFort™ epoxy vapour barrier where required.
