Fortis Coat 519 is a premium single-component clear polyurethane coating designed to protect and enhance concrete, timber and compatible decorative flooring surfaces.
The moisture-curing polyurethane formulation produces a tough, hard-wearing clear finish with excellent abrasion and wear resistance. Its resistance to yellowing and UV exposure helps maintain the natural appearance of the underlying surface, making Coat 519 suitable for both internal and compatible exterior applications.
Coat 519 is particularly suited to concrete floors, timber floors, decorative concrete and other surfaces where a durable clear protective coating is required without the mixing requirements of a two-component system.
The single-pack formulation makes application straightforward while providing a professional protective finish for residential, commercial and light industrial environments. Multiple coats can be applied to build a uniform protective surface according to the required service conditions.
Where a water-based, low-odour clear polyurethane system is preferred, consider Fortis Coat 526. For demanding two-component flooring applications requiring enhanced chemical, abrasion and wear resistance, Fortis Coat 527 provides a higher-performance polyurethane topcoat.

Typical Applications
Fortis Coat 519 is suitable for concrete and timber floors, decorative concrete, garages, workshops, residential floors and commercial areas requiring a durable clear polyurethane finish.
Application
Apply Coat 519 to a clean, dry and properly prepared surface using a suitable roller or brush. Remove dust, oil, grease, wax and other contaminants that may affect adhesion.
Stir thoroughly before use while avoiding excessive air entrainment. Coat 519 is a single-component moisture-curing polyurethane and does not require a separate hardener.
Apply thin, uniform coats while maintaining a consistent wet edge. Avoid excessive film build, puddling or repeatedly working material once curing has commenced.
Allow each coat to cure within the recommended recoat interval. If the maximum recoat interval is exceeded, mechanically abrade the surface before recoating. Temperature and humidity will influence curing time.
For floors requiring additional surface grip, Fortis Non-Slip Additive can be incorporated into Coat 519 to produce a textured, slip-resistant finish.

Suitable Surfaces
Fortis Coat 519 is suitable for properly prepared concrete, timber, decorative concrete and compatible existing coating systems.
Concrete must be clean, sound and dry, with all dust, laitance, oil, grease, curing compounds and other contaminants removed before coating. Mechanically prepare the surface where required to provide a clean and suitable profile for adhesion.
Timber must be clean, dry and appropriately sanded. Remove sanding dust thoroughly before coating. Test Coat 519 on an inconspicuous area where timber species, previous treatments or appearance may affect the final result.
Existing compatible coatings must be firmly bonded, cleaned and mechanically abraded before recoating. Test adhesion before proceeding.
Coat 519 is not intended to control rising damp or significant moisture vapour transmission through concrete. Moisture conditions should be investigated before coating where dampness is suspected.
