Concrete Shield™ Grout 1000 is a concrete polishing grout for filling pinholes, small air pockets and surface imperfections exposed during grinding. It helps create a smoother, more uniform surface for subsequent grinding and polishing of residential, commercial and industrial concrete floors.

Concrete Shield™ Grout 1000 is a water-based concrete polishing grout designed to fill pinholes, small air pockets and minor surface imperfections exposed during the concrete grinding and polishing process.

Applied during grinding, Grout 1000 combines with fine concrete dust to create a slurry that fills small voids and imperfections in the concrete surface. This helps produce a smoother and more consistent finish before densifying and subsequent polishing stages.

Grout 1000 can be used on new and existing concrete and is designed to work as part of the Concrete Shield™ polished concrete system with Concrete Shield™ Premium Lithium Densifier and compatible Concrete Shield™ penetrating sealers and enhancers.

Its water-based, ultra-low VOC formulation provides strong adhesion without yellowing and is suitable for professional polished concrete applications.

For best results, apply Grout 1000 during the appropriate grinding stage and follow the recommended polishing process. It is intended for filling minor surface defects and is not a structural repair product.

Product Application

Lightly dampen the prepared concrete surface with clean water using a pump sprayer. Apply only enough water to dampen the concrete without allowing water to pool.

While the surface remains damp, apply Concrete Shield™ Grout 1000 generously using a pump sprayer. Work approximately 3–5 metres ahead of the grinder and scrub the product into the surface using a fine-bristle broom to help remove dust from the concrete pores.

While Grout 1000 remains wet, grind the surface using 120-grit diamond tooling. Fine concrete dust generated during grinding combines with Grout 1000 to form a slurry that fills pinholes, small air pockets and minor voids exposed in the concrete.

After grinding, lightly broom the surface to remove excess slurry while leaving filled imperfections intact. Allow the treated surface to progress through the specified polishing system.

After grouting, continue the specified grinding process and apply the appropriate Concrete Shield™ densifier. Use Potassium/Lithium Concrete Densifier for general commercial, industrial and larger polished concrete floors, or Premium Lithium Concrete Densifier where a premium polished finish is required. Continue grinding and polishing in accordance with the project specification and current Technical Data Sheets.

Do not allow Grout 1000 to pool or dry excessively on the surface during application.

Surfaces

  • Polished concrete floors
  • Concrete containing pinholes and minor surface voids exposed during grinding

The surface must be sound and free from wax, oil, grease, dirt, curing compounds, sealers and other contaminants that may interfere with penetration or adhesion.

Apply between 10°C and 35°C and provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.

For best results, apply Grout 1000 within two days of grinding the concrete.

Do not allow the product to pool, as excess material may dry white. Avoid application during the final polishing stage where residual material may affect the appearance.

Not suitable for natural stone. Do not apply over existing sealers or curing compounds unless they have been completely removed.

Grout 1000 is designed to fill minor pinholes and surface imperfections. It is not a structural repair product and should not be used to repair broken, unstable or deteriorated concrete.
