Applications

Before applying Fortis Coat 519, ensure all surfaces are completely dry. For the best results, use a 5mm quality roller. Pour directly from the can or pail onto the floor and work your way across the room. If using a tray or pot, only decant enough for immediate use. Seal the original container to prevent moisture exposure. Do not return unused product to the original container. Apply in 30-minute increments, and lightly sand between coats with a 150 grit mesh screen to remove defects.

Surfaces

For optimal adhesion, substrates should be thoroughly sanded or ground to create a keyed surface. When applying Fortis Coat 519 over existing coatings, always perform an adhesion test to ensure proper bonding. Remove any contaminants before application.
New Concrete Surfaces:

For new concrete, diamond grinding is the preferred method. Allow fresh concrete to cure for a minimum of 28 days before applying the coating to ensure proper bonding.
Old Surfaces:

Diamond grinding is ideal for old surfaces, though etching and cleaning are also viable options. If you're uncertain about the preparation process, contact Fortis for guidance. For surfaces with a high quartz content, pre-apply Fortis Polyurethane Adhesion Promoter to improve adhesion.
