Aquepoxy® Epoxy Floor Line Marking – Yellow & White

Aquepoxy® is a high-performance, two-pack water-based epoxy for yellow and white line marking over compatible epoxy floors. Define pedestrian walkways, forklift routes, parking bays and work zones in warehouses, factories and interior car parks. Formerly manufactured by Cavco, now part of Fortis Adhesives & Coatings.

Information

Aquepoxy® Line Marking provides durable, clearly defined markings on correctly prepared, compatible epoxy-coated floors. Available in Line Safe Yellow and Line White, it forms part of the established Aquepoxy® flooring range.

Use it to identify traffic routes, separate pedestrian and vehicle areas, outline parking spaces and mark designated storage or operating zones. Its water-based, low-odour formulation makes it a practical option for interior commercial and industrial flooring projects.

The cured epoxy finish provides resistance to abrasion, oils, petrol and grease. Service life depends on surface preparation, coating thickness, traffic intensity and cleaning practices. Turning points, forklift crossings and other areas of concentrated wear may require periodic maintenance.

Aquepoxy® Line Marking can be specified alongside Aquepoxy® Water-Based Epoxy Floor Coating to provide a coordinated floor coating and marking system.

Existing coatings must be sound, clean and suitable for recoating. Compatibility and adhesion should be checked before application, particularly where the original floor coating is unknown.

Material

Two-component Water-based Epoxy

Advantages

  • Available in Line Safe Yellow and Line White.

  • Durable epoxy finish for industrial and commercial floors.

  • Suitable for line marking over compatible epoxy coatings.

  • Low odour during application.

  • Resistance to abrasion, oils, petrol and grease.

  • Suitable for masked lines and stencil-applied markings.

  • Water clean-up before curing.

  • Part of the established Aquepoxy® flooring system.

Certifications

Contact Fortis for applicable Aquepoxy® technical documentation and test reports.

Slip-resistance results apply to the specific tested coating and aggregate system. A rating for an Aquepoxy® floor system should not automatically be applied to smooth yellow or white line markings.

Product Application

Typical Applications

  • Warehouse pedestrian walkways.

  • Forklift routes and traffic lane boundaries.

  • Factory work zones and equipment areas.

  • Interior car park bays and directional markings.

  • Loading and dispatch area markings.

  • Designated storage zones and exclusion areas.

  • Workshop floor markings.

Surface Preparation

The existing epoxy floor must be firmly bonded and free from oil, grease, dirt, cleaning residues and other contaminants.

For aged or fully cured coatings, clean thoroughly and mechanically abrade as required to provide a suitable bonding surface. Remove dust before coating. For recently applied epoxy floors, follow the specified recoat window and preparation requirements.

Complete a trial application to confirm compatibility and adhesion. Remove loose or peeling coatings and repair damaged areas before marking.

Application

Set out the marking layout and apply suitable masking tape or stencils to the prepared floor.

Mix Part A and Part B in the ratio specified in the current Aquepoxy® Technical Data Sheet. Apply evenly using a suitable roller or brush, avoiding excessive build-up along tape edges.

Apply sufficient coats to achieve the specified film thickness and consistent colour coverage. The number of coats required will depend on the background colour, application method and finish required.

Provide ventilation and airflow during drying and curing. Follow the current Technical Data Sheet for mixing, recoating and return-to-service requirements.

Surfaces

Suitable for sound, correctly prepared Aquepoxy® floors and other compatible epoxy-coated interior concrete floors.

Confirm suitability before applying over polyurethane, polyaspartic, acrylic or unidentified coatings. Do not apply over loose coatings, contaminated surfaces or floors with unresolved adhesion problems.

Contact Fortis before specifying for exposed outdoor areas or substrates outside the recommended epoxy flooring system.

Aquepoxy® Line Marking FAQs

Can Aquepoxy® line marking be applied over an existing epoxy floor?

Yes, provided the existing epoxy is compatible, firmly bonded and correctly prepared. A trial application and adhesion check are recommended before completing the job.

Which line marking colours are available?

Aquepoxy® line marking is available in Line Safe Yellow and Line White.

Can it be used for warehouse walkways and forklift lanes?

Yes. Typical uses include pedestrian routes, forklift lane boundaries, work zones and parking bays. Concentrated traffic and turning movements can increase wear.

Does an existing epoxy floor need sanding first?

Aged or fully cured epoxy generally requires cleaning and mechanical abrasion. Recently applied coatings may have a specified recoat window. Follow the relevant system instructions.

How much line marking coating will I need?

Multiply the total line length by the line width in metres to calculate the area per coat. For example, 100 metres of line at 100 mm wide covers 10 m² per coat. At 50 mm wide, it covers 5 m² per coat.

Divide this area by the specified coverage rate to calculate litres required per coat. Allow for the required number of coats, surface texture and application losses.

Contact Fortis for coverage advice and assistance calculating quantities.

Are the line markings slip resistant?

Slip resistance depends on the installed finish and any specified aggregate. Smooth line markings should not be assumed to have the same slip rating as the surrounding floor.
