FORTIS PA75 is a high-performance polyurethane contact adhesive developed for bonding flexible PVC, coated fabrics, polyurethane, rubber and other compatible flexible materials.
PA75 provides excellent initial bond strength, outstanding heat resistance and very good resistance to plasticiser migration. These properties make it particularly suitable for flexible PVC and coated-fabric applications where strong, flexible and durable bonds are required.
PA75 can be applied by spray, brush, roller or suitable automatic adhesive application equipment. It can be used as a single-component adhesive or combined with FORTIS PA75 Catalyst where increased heat resistance and bond performance are required.
The adhesive can be used with conventional contact-bonding techniques or heat activated after application. Components may also be pre-coated before final assembly, providing flexibility for industrial production processes.
Typical applications include flexible PVC fabrication, PVC and polyurethane-coated fabrics, inflatable structures, inflatable boats and dinghies, jumping castles, rubber bladders, hose components, flexible membranes, marine products, automotive trim, seating and other flexible-material assemblies.
PA75 is particularly suited to applications involving plasticised PVC and flexible materials where resistance to plasticiser migration is important.
Substrate formulations can vary considerably. Fortis recommends compatibility and production testing before bonding unfamiliar materials or using PA75 in critical inflatable, pressure-retaining or industrial applications.

FORTIS PA75 may be applied by spray, brush, roller-coater or suitable automatic adhesive application equipment.
For conventional contact bonding, apply an even coat of PA75 to both prepared surfaces. Allow the adhesive to dry for approximately 10–15 minutes before assembly.
PA75 may also be heat activated. Pre-coated substrates can be reactivated at a temperature of not less than approximately 55°C. Bring the prepared surfaces together and apply firm, even pressure. The standard Fortis process recommends pressing for approximately 60 seconds at 80 PSI where suitable for the components being assembled.
Substrates may be pre-coated and stored for a short period before heat activation and final assembly.
For applications requiring increased heat resistance or bond performance, FORTIS PA75 Catalyst may be added at 5–15% by weight. Refer to the current Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet when using the catalysed system.
Application rate, drying time, activation temperature and pressure should be confirmed by production trials for the substrates and manufacturing process being used.
For critical applications including inflatable structures, pressure-retaining bladders, hose assemblies and marine inflatables, test the complete bonded construction under its intended service conditions before production use.

Typical applications include PVC inflatable manufacture and repair, inflatable boats and dinghies, jumping castles and inflatable structures, marine components, rubber bladders, hose components, flexible membranes, coated-fabric fabrication, automotive trim, seating and general flexible-material assembly.
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, grease, dust and other contaminants. Smooth or polished surfaces may require light abrasion before bonding.
PVC and coated fabrics may be lightly abraded or solvent wiped where appropriate. Rubber should generally be abraded and cleaned before bonding. Polyurethane surfaces should be abraded and thoroughly cleaned.
Plasticiser levels, surface coatings and material formulations can vary considerably between manufacturers. Always carry out compatibility and production testing before bonding unfamiliar substrates.
For critical inflatable, pressure-retaining, hose or marine applications, test the complete bonded assembly under the intended service conditions before production use.
